Homedale High School Robotics Club “Trobots”

Homedale High School

203 East Idaho Avenue

Homedale, Idaho 83628

Dear Management,

The Homedale Trobots Team is a competitor in the FIRST Robotics Competition®. FIRST is helping our students develop vital STEM skills. The Trobots are proud to announce we will be participating in their fifth year in the 2023 competition.

In case you have never heard of Homedale, Idaho, let us tell you about it. We are a small, rural community about 50 minutes west of Boise on the Oregon border, and we are a largely low-income school. This means that our robotics team receives very little funding and often lacks the resources that the larger teams we compete against have.

At Homedale, we truly believe the purpose of robotics is not for the students to build a robot but for the robot to build our students. STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) has real-world applications with a growing number of STEM careers. A few ways our students are learning Stem skills are:

  • Creating the electrical and pneumatic systems (Science)

  • Coding and Programing (Technology)

  • Designing, planning, and building our robot (Engineering)

  • Calculating the dimensions of the robot and the trajectory of the balls we shoot (Math)

These are just a few ways we are applying STEM.

Our students are also learning many other skills including but not limited to teamwork, leadership, social skills, work ethic, perseverance, patience, and problem-solving.

The goal of our robotics team is to be able to compete against other schools and clubs. In January, FIRST will announce what tasks our robot must perform. After our challenge is announced we will spend months working tirelessly on our robot. In the spring of 2023, we will compete in the Idaho regional competition in Nampa, Idaho, as well as the Utah regional competition in Salt Lake.

If you have donated in the past, we sincerely appreciate the donations you have made for our teams in the past. They have been very helpful. We could not have competed if it weren’t for donors like yourself.

None of this would ever be possible without our amazing sponsors. This is why we humbly ask if you would be interested in sponsoring our team. All donations are greatly appreciated. You will not only receive publicity from us but will also be investing in the future of society by creating these learning experiences.

Fundraising pays for all of our team's expenses. Expenses that your donations will help cover include:

  • Robot parts and materials

  • Competition entry fee

  • Competition travel

  • New Tools

We appreciate your time and are excited to hear from you.
